Good Things Happen To Those Who Wait

Monday, April 11, 2016 - 14:30

We are beyond excited to announce that the wonderful wines of Illahe Vineyards and Lone Birch Winery have finally arrived from America and are now available from our portfolio. These wines were hand-selected and have spent the last few months making the trek from the Pacific Northwest to our chalk mine cellars in the UK. We have eagerly awaited their arrival and we are now delighted to include them in our portfolio and until 31st October, save 10% with NEWARRIVAL10. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you would like any further information. We hope that you enjoy these wines as much as we do - cheers!

ILLAHE VINEYARDS, WILLAMETTE VALLEY, OREGON

Illahe, pronounced 'ill-uh-hee', is a local word used from Chinook jargon meaning 'earth', 'place' or 'soil'. This producer makes wines as naturally as possible from their 80-acre south-facing vineyard in the Willamette Valley. They work the vines by hand with age-old techniques and materials including wooden basket presses and a team of horses to mow and deliver grapes to the winery at harvest. Rather impressively, some of Illahe's wines are made entirely by hand with no electricity or mechanisation!

LONE BIRCH WINERY, YAKIMA VALLEY, WASHINGTON STATE

Based in the Yakima Valley in Washington State, Lone Birch Winery produces estate wines with real freshness and purity of fruit. This is a family-run winery and has been for over four generations. The tree on the label refers to a sole-surviving birch tree that was planted by the great-great-grandfather and now serves as a reminder of Lone Birch's commitment to care for the environment, reduce their carbon footprint, utilize sustainable farming practices, and ensure their farm lives on for generations to come.
